Trixie has moved up to the next classroom (really part of the same physical classroom she was in before, but they separate the kids by age/ability) and we had our transition meeting with the two new teachers last week.
It was really an excuse for them to sit and say nice things about Trixie for half an hour and I could listen to that all day. And since a blog is just a self-indulgent way to share it with you all:
They don't usually transition a kid who has a new sibling, because of all the stress. But Trixie has been so advanced, drinking from cups without lids, starting to toilet train on her own, good at sitting in Circle time, etc. that they went ahead. And she's responded wonderfully, as though she's realizing, "Hey, I'm a big girl, and I can do these new things." We think she needs the new challenge.
They used the word "impressive" a lot too.
