LIGHTENING RAID;
PIGLET UNHARMED

The News in Brief

  POOH'S CORNER, Sunday (Gazette) -- Piglet was freed today in a desperate dawn raid by his baby companion.

The Government today released stunning news about the recent kidnapping of Piglet by the S.A.R.F.P., a stuffed animals splinter group recently believed to be based in the desert of Astoria.

Beatrix, Piglet's companion, undertook a desperate dawn raid, unsanctioned by the Grade A Prime Minister.

It is believed that the heroic Trixie, desperate for the return of her companion Piglet, stowed away in the retinue of the diplomatic envoy, Critter, and was led to the S.A.R.F.P. hideout. Seizing her chance while the parties were in negotiation, she freed Piglet in the early dawn hours.

In a statement, the S.A.R.F.P. revealed that the Government of Pooh's Corner had already paid the handsome porker's ransom, though neither he nor his rescuer seemed to be aware of that.
