Laugh in

Bailey chortles. He guffaws. He giggles. He brays his laughter, open-mouthed. Doing a double-take for him: comedy gold. He finds his sister endlessly entertaining. And the cats! Surely clowns put here in his house to keep him in stitches.

He's a big, happy, chuckling baby, except of course for when he is not, which luckily seems to mainly involve being in his crib and not seeing Mama's face overhead. I don't remember Trixie being so consistently amused, though she laughs and giggles -- and tells jokes now too.

Bailey often reminds me of something my father said about me when he was giving a toast at our wedding. He said that one time when I was very small I'd gotten hysterical laughing about something and he thought, "This is a good sign."

I think so too. Bailey, this is a very good sign.

Hey, this was a great post !

(and i'm not saying that just to get out of doing the dishes later)

Its true, he's got a very humorous sensibility.

And last night there was very little humor in getting up at 3AM because T. had a bad stomach ache that eventually led to some early morning horking.
(but lets save that for another post).

I agree: a wonderful post! These children have inherited a wonderful appreciation for humor, and can look forward to many, many hilarious times.

Aunt Amy,a woman not known for her lack of a sense of humor, has this trait also. First noticed on an outing in Myrtle Beach lo, these many decades ago. Suddenly started laughing hysterically for no apparent reason, unless just in sheer delight at being out in the sun in the State Park. Also a good sign.

I suspect she and Trixie and Bailey will be co-conspirators in many a future escapade.

I hope Trixie's stomach ache has been resolved.
